Food Thrift
Community Bulk Economics

From Wholesale Millers to Your Pot

Why pay inflated retail kiosk markups? Food Thrift combines buying power within each Local Government Area to save ~18% on bulk food staples.

01
Procurement

Direct Bulk Aggregation

We purchase full sacks of parboiled rice, sweet honey beans, and white garri directly from primary millers, bypassing multiple retail commercial markups.

02
Portioning

Calibrated Packaging into Affordable Units

Wholesale sacks are portioned on precision digital scales into 5kg, 2kg, and 1kg food-grade sealed packages. Grains are destoned, inspected for cleanliness, and batch-labeled.

03
Community Split

Contribute Your Share Securely

Order alone (Solo), or team up with 1 roommate (Duo) or 3 flatmates (Squad). Each person pays their share via Paystack. Payments close on the last day of the month (Nov 30). Complete 100% for full package dispatch (80%–99% receives 80% package; <80% rolls over).

04
Distribution

LGA Secretariat Pickup & ₦4k Lodge Delivery

Packaging starts within 1–5 days of the new month (Dec 1–5). Collect free at your designated LGA Secretariat on NYSC Clearance Day using your digital pickup pass, or opt for direct lodge delivery for flat ₦4,000.
