Food Thrift is a bulk purchasing collective designed for Nigerian corps members and students. We operate with strict adherence to scale weights, cycle deadlines, and distribution points.

Payments close on the last day of the month (November 30). Packaging starts within 1–5 days of the new month (Dec 1–5).
FREE Pickup on monthly NYSC Clearance Day at your official LGA Secretariat, OR direct lodge delivery at a flat fee of ₦4,000.
Only 100% contribution receives full food package dispatch. 80%–99% receives an 80% food package (surplus balance carried over). Below 80% automatically rolls over.
Strictly no cash refunds. Contributed money is converted directly into bulk food inventory and remains 100% credited to your account for rollover.
1 Contribution Milestones & 27th Monthly 80% Threshold Audit
Because wholesale bulk sacks (e.g. 50kg rice, 50kg beans) must be paid for in advance before agricultural millers break bulk, member fulfillment depends on meeting collective squad thresholds:

On the 27th of every month, an automated system audit checks each squad's pooled progress. If a squad has not achieved at least 80% funding, an urgent prompt notification is dispatched to all members. Members have a 24-hour priority window (until 28th at 11:59 PM WAT) to complete pending contributions or invite additional roommates.
If the squad remains below 80% after the 24-hour window, the batch is safely closed, and member allocations are automatically rolled over into an active squad for the next month's batch.
FoodThrift aggregates collective member funds to secure advance wholesale commodity contracts directly with agricultural millers. Once funds are deposited into agricultural escrow, they are committed to physical grain allocations. Under no circumstances are cash refunds issued.
100% Capital Preservation Guarantee: If a squad is unable to complete its target, member contributions are never lost or forfeited. Zero deductions are made. Your entire balance is safely preserved and automatically credited to your account, and you will be moved into an active group for the subsequent month's food cycle.

NYSC Clearance Day at LGA Secretariat
Every month, corps members attend mandatory clearance at their respective LGA Secretariat. Our dispatch desks are situated directly at the Secretariat grounds on Clearance Thursday & Friday, allowing you to collect your sealed food package without paying any transport fee.
Direct Home / Lodge Delivery
Prefer not to carry heavy bags of rice and beans from the secretariat? Choose direct dispatch to your hostel or corpers lodge gate within 1–5 days of the new month for an exact flat fee of ₦4,000.

For emergency situations when food finishes a few days before month-end or allawee payment:
